We invite you to share your unique perspective on our planet by entering Nature in Focus: The Nature Conservancy’s 2013 Digital Photo Contest.

The grand-prize winner’s image will be printed on the cover of the 2015 Nature Conservancy calendar. Other finalist images will also be featured throughout the calendar. All entrants featured in the calendar will receive a copy of the calendar.
What to submit
Images submitted to this contest should highlight the diversity of life on Earth including: the connection between people and nature, plant life, birds and wildlife in natural habitats.
Photographs that showcase the wide range of habitats are also encouraged, including:
- Forests
- Grasslands
- Freshwater (lakes and rivers)
- Deserts and arid lands
- Marine (coral reefs, oceans and coasts)

Please do not include photographs of pets or domestic animals. Images of captive animals photographed in zoos and commercial game farms are also prohibited, however photos from state and national wildlife preserves are allowed.
Copyright and usage of entry: You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit — including ownership if applicable.
You only grant The Nature Conservancy rights (as described below) to your photograph if you are honored by the competition as an honorable mention, finalist, runner up or grand prize winner. Before you are formally honored by the competition, The Nature Conservancy will contact you to confirm that you wish to grant us rights to your image as described below.
If your photograph is formally honored by the competition as an honorable mention, finalist, runner up or grand prize winner, you grant The Nature Conservancy a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
Use the photograph on the Internet in support of our mission.
Use the photograph in The Nature Conservancy’s non-commercial communications.
Provide your photograph to other individuals and organizations for non-commercial use, TNC-related use in news stories, newsletters, reports, slide shows, displays, web pages, and the like.
Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.
As conditions of this permission, The Nature Conservancy shall credit all photographs with the caption “© Person’s Name” when the full name is available.

Celebrating the variety of wildlife, our Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 competition is open to professional, amateur and young photographers alike.
We are looking for striking images exhibiting photographic excellence with high quality and good composition that capture the essence of nature in four categories:
- Native Wildlife – flora and fauna native or resident in the British Isles
- Cute and Funny – mother nature at her cutest or most amusing
- Marwell Wildlife residents
- Marwell Wildlife endangered – species at Marwell specifically classified by IUCN as endangered or critically endangered
All categories will have prizes awarded for one adult and one junior winner (children aged 15 and under).
An overall adult and junior winner will be decided from the winners of the above categories – see below for the prizes!

What can nature tell us? For centuries – if not millennia- Human Beings have found ways to relate to nature, to derive meaning from our interaction between the elements, flora, and fauna- be it simply capturing a beautiful scene with the local animals or creating a meaningful and fable-like composition. For this exhibition, we want your unique take on the classic theme of nature. All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Video submissions will be displayed online only.
Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again for a collective live exhibition at our Pasadena Gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the live collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition.

Considering that beyond its message, photography is also a cultural expression of Man, a feeling and an atmosphere, the Images Humaines group has decided, supported by the Paris City Hall and the 4th District City Hall, to create an International Photography Fair in the heart of Paris.
With this aim will be organized « La Quatrième Image », the first free-entry international photography fair, at lʼEspace des Blancs-Manteaux in Paris. This event will be held annually on the first week of November.
In 2013, La Quatrième Image will take place over 6 days, including a week-end – from the 31st of October to the 5th of November.
La Quatrième Image will be reserved to photographers, as well as photography galleries both French and from around around the globe, who will expose their artists’ work. Renowned professionals from the world of photography will form a committee and hand out the Exhibition Prize to the best photographer at the end of the event.
La Quatrième Image will be a non-profit cultural event presented by the Images Humaines group. Entry will be free along with a certain number of activities such as portfolio readings, and workshops aimed at initiating children to the world of images.
This ambitious project finds its true meaning in the particular attention paid to both the public and the talented photographers
themselves, as well as professionals from this sector. This event will be foremost a window on today’s world of photography, a cultural bridge accessible by all, without regards to age, education, or social status.
