Golden Turtle Photo Contest 2014

Festival wildlife «Golden Turtle» representing the best works submitted to the contest, as well as other projects aimed at preserving wildlife annually held in Moscow. After
completion of the Moscow Festival of competition are sent to an exhibition tour in Russia and other countries.

The first wildlife photo contest “Golden Turtle” was held in 2006, and in 2010 officially became an international photo contest. For the first time works were adopted on the contest of wildlife films “Golden Turtle” in 2011.

Contests art design and visual arts of the wilderness will be held in 2013 for the first time.

In January and February 2013 Wildlife Festival “Golden Turtle” was held at the Central House of Artists in Moscow, which gathered more than 120,000 visitors.

The photographer must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all submitted pictures. Organizers of competition have the right:

• inclusion within the Website of competition “Golden Turtle” and official groups in social networks;

Save the Children International Photography Commission

ideas-tapWe’ve teamed up with Save the Children and Magnum Photos to offer one IdeasTap member the photography opportunity of a lifetime.

Right from the beginning, photography has been at the heart of Save the Children’s campaigns. Documenting real people, in their environment, and sharing their personal experiences with mass audiences, is key to the charity’s visual communications.

One applicant will win the opportunity to undertake an international photographic commission in Central America for Save the Children under the guidance of Magnum photographer Alex Webb. This is a mentoring opportunity aimed at emerging photographers aged 18-30. They will also win £1,000 from IdeasTap.

Prizes: One emerging photographer will be mentored by Magnum Photographer Alex Webb and paid £1,000 to undertake a photographic assignment in Central America for Save the Children.

The assignment will take place sometime between 19 November and 5 December. The purpose of this trip will be to gather stories that can be used in the media about how climate change is affecting children in the region.

Applicants should submit a photo essay of five to 10 images, which documents a community and illustrates how its residents relate to their environment. The series must include at least one portrait, contextual images and be in colour. One winner will be selected by a panel of industry judges at the beginning of November.

Only apply for this brief if you are available to travel on assignment from 19 November to 5 December 2014.

The judges are looking for a photographer with a strong sense of style and excellent technical ability.

Our annual portraits exhibition brings artists from around the globe into the spotlight. A portrait is a visual representation that portrays the likeness of a person, place, animal, or object. All capture types and photographic processes welcome

Debra Klomp Ching is the owner and director of the Klompching Gallery in New York, founded in 2007 in partnership with Darren Ching. The gallery specializes in the sale and exhibition of contemporary fine art photography, and is a member of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD). She is also an adviser to the Center for Fine Art Photography (Fort Collins), a photo editor for At Length Magazine, a consultant for collectors and photographers, and Adjunct Faculty at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

ABOUT C4FAP | Founded in 2004 by photographers, The Center for Fine Art Photography is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) photography organization. We provide support to photographic artists through exhibition, solo exhibition, promotion, portfolio reviews, publication, education and connection to a large community of other artists, curators, gallery owners and photographic professionals. Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all photographers world wide, both amateur and professional. The Center invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate in its exhibitions.

MEMBERS | $24 for the first five images. NON-MEMBERS | $38 for the first five images. ADDITIONAL IMAGES may be submitted for $8 each for members and $10 each for non-members.

With selection for this exhibition, the artists are invited to join C4FAP on the reception weekend for review with the juror, Debora Klomp Ching, and the Executive Director, Hamidah Glasgow. There will also be a group portfolio share and an artists’ lunch at C4FAP. An international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and other advocates of fine art photography will view the chosen artist’s work throughout the exhibition. Each participant is included in the Center’s Main Gallery exhibition in Fort Collins, Colorado and Online Gallery exhibition. In order to be included in the online gallery or to receive an award, you must provide a professionally printed and framed/mounted image for gallery exhibition. All chosen artists will be included in the exhibition catalog.

One of our key objectives for the Scottish Nature Photography Awards is to encourage and promote emerging talent. Our “Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year” competition is open to students over the age of 18 undertaking a Photography element in their further or higher education course and our “Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year” title is open to young photographers under 18 years of age.

The 2014 Photographic Competition is open for entry 10th September 2014 – 30 November 2014.

  • There will be 8 category winners and the winning images from each category will then be judged again to select the overall winner who will be the Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2014. BBSRC Science Photography Contest

Your image should convey the impact of bioscience and biological research. We want to see unique and surprising perspectives exploring the impact of bioscience and biology on society and the importance of bioscience in everyday life. With this competition we want you to capture the exciting developments happening in bioscience today with images from the Great British public, its students and its researchers.

Eligibility: 18 + | Open to UK residents


Overall winner: £600 vouchers (in addition to category prize)
Category winners: £400 vouchers
Runners up: £200 vouchers
All of the prize winning images, along with any highly commended images, will be exhibited at the Great British Bioscience Festival in London this November.

Entries will be judged on aesthetic merit and the ability to convey, with creative flair, complex scientific subjects in research, issues in science and society, life in research, as well as contemporary topics in bioscience.

Image requirements: minimum of 2MB and maximum of 20MB and at a minimum resolution of 300dpi as a jpg file
