Adobe Design Achievement Awards 2013

The 2013 Adobe® Design Achievement Awards inspires higher education students from around the world to create their wings and fly. Media Segment Grand Prize Winners will receive Adobe software, a cash prize of US$3000, mentorship, and an invitation to participate in the 2013 IDA Congress in Istanbul, Turkey; travel and lodging not included. Submissions close June 21, 2013.

Participants may submit up to 3 times in all or any of the 12 different categories

Prizes:

Category Winners will be announced October 21, 2013. Category Winners will win US$2000 as individuals, or to be split among team members for group entries, and Adobe software. Grand Prize Media Segment Winners will receive Adobe software and US$3000 to be awarded as individual participants or to be split among team members for group entries. Finalists will be selected in each category, however, only one Category Winner will be awarded.

Category Winners:

Media Segment Grand Prize winners receive US$3,000 cash for an individual winner, or to be split among team members of a group entry, mentorship, and one invitation to attend the 2013 IDA Congress*, with one complimentary student standard Congress registration fee, [US$461] added to the prize value.

Individual ‘Category Winners’ receive $US2000 cash, a winner’s certificate, a 3D award, and a 24-month Adobe Creative Cloud membership. Individual Category Winners receive an invitation* to attend the 2013 IDA Congress held in Istanbul, Turkey in November 2013, and one complimentary general student registration fee of [US$461] value.

Finalists:
Individual ‘Category Winners’ receive $US2000 cash, a winner’s certificate, a 3D award, and a 24-month Adobe Creative Cloud membership. Each individual Category Winner will also receive a one-year mentorship with an ADAA Advisory Board member. Group Category Winners receive US$2000 cash to be split by the winning team members, and one 3D award to be shared among team members. Each team member receives a 24-month Creative Cloud membership, and a winner’s certificate. Group’s designated leader will also receive one-year mentorship with an ADAA Advisory Board member.

Honorable Mention designees:

Individual and group member Honorable Mention designees receive a Creative Cloud membership for 12 months, and an Honorable Mention designee digital certificate.

Copyright and usage right:

By submitting an entry by a sole creator to a category, Contestant warrants that Contestant is the sole designer, creator, and owner of the artwork, including all visual and auditory components, or has permission to use copyrighted components, and further warrants that the artwork does not contain information considered by Contestant’s place of business or any other third party to be confidential.

By submitting an entry by a group of creators, the Contestants warrant that they jointly designed, created, and own the visual and auditory artwork or have permission to use copyrighted components, and further warrant that the artwork does not contain information considered by Contestants’ place of business or any other third party to be confidential.

Each Contestant agrees that if his or her entry is selected as a Finalist entry, as a condition of receiving a prize, Contestant shall sign a license agreement granting to Sponsor a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, modify for purposes of publicly performing and publicly displaying, and prepare derivative works based upon winner’s entry, for the purposes of advertising and promoting Adobe products, and for inclusion in and distribution with Adobe products.

To the extent that such a perpetual license is ineffective or unenforceable, Contestant shall sign a license agreement providing to Sponsor a royalty-free, non-exclusive, two-year (2), worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, modify for purposes of publicly performing and publicly displaying, and prepare derivative works based upon winner’s entry, for the purposes of advertising and promoting Adobe products, and for inclusion in and distribution with Adobe products.
